Cutting Back on Carbon, Rather than Carbs

In the United States, the average carbon footprint for a person is 16 tons, one of the highest rates in the world.

Carbon footprint contributes to urban air pollution, leads to toxic acid rain, ocean acidification, and the melting of glaciers and polar ice.

We want to – better still – we need to change this.

We work in our local and global communities toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. As part of the strategies aimed at reducing our carbon footprint and making a sustainable impact, we only keep necessary personnel in our corporate offices, and our workforce conducts their day-to-day business remotely.

Waste is Only Waste if You Waste It

Recycling is the process of transforming one thing into another.

It’s a wizardry of sorts and not very different from what we do when translating words from one language into another: just listen to two interpreters working their magic in the booth and tell us if it’s not something out of a Harry Potter movie.

We are proud to say that over the years, we have steadily reduced our waste through prevention, reduction, reuse, and downcycling or recycling across our global locations, team members, and partners.

Busting the Silent Vowel of Our Society

Let’s spell it out. According to statistics, 1 in 5 U.S. adults experiences mental illness each year.

The mental health stigma is at the root of the problem and needs to be dispelled.

This is why we have become Partners in Prevention of Hope For The Day: a non-profit movement empowering the conversation on proactive suicide prevention and mental health education.

Mental health awareness training is part of onboarding every new team member we hire.

The Language of Peace

The sudden news of the war in Ukraine left all of us shocked in February 2022. War inhumanly leaves victims in its wake and our initial shock was soon replaced with an urge to do something for those victims.

We are not politicians or doctors. Our tools are… well, languages. But we knew that something needed to be done, so in March 2022, we launched a free translation program for Ukrainian war refugees.

This program has allowed us to provide numerous war-affected individuals with much-needed no-cost document translations. We take comfort in the knowledge that our support made their lives even one tiny bit easier in the midst of the unimaginable distress of having to flee their war-torn country.
